About Vanessa
Whether she's working within the C-suite or rolling up her sleeves to execute, Vanessa knows how to successfully balance budget, tight timelines, and impact for extraordinary results.
My story started when I moved across the country to Seattle and became an advertising account executive after college. During the height of the dot-com era, I worked my way up to Senior Brand Manager. I helped brands like VacationSpot.com (sold to Expedia), Vicinity Corporation (sold to Microsoft), Bayliner and Maxum boats (sold to Brunswick Corp), and OnAir (formerly Tenzing Communications) acquire, keep, and grow customers and business partnerships.
Since those early days, I’ve expanded my toolbox by advising clients on financial security and investment solutions, developing and managing acquisition marketing programs for SaaS-based technology firms, directing event programs for the National Association of REALTORS(R), and most recently, acquiring my NC real estate broker license. Throughout these experiences, one thing remained consistent: My passion for helping others succeed and reach their desired goals.
I founded TAKE Success in 2014 to help more B2B companies and entrepreneurs do just that, and it’s been an adventure every step of the way!
On a personal level, I’m a married, #boymom to three sons, rescue puppy owner, avid wake surfer, and CFO (Chief Fun Organizer) of @takefamilyadventures — check us out on Instagram!
The story behind TAKE Success
TAKE Success, LLC was formed in Seattle, Washington on June 24, 2014, by me, Vanessa Murray. We consult for the most sought-after B2B companies seeking to launch a new product, showcase at a tradeshow, sponsor a partner event, host a retreat, or execute their own user conference.
I found myself on the RIF list during an acquisition by Zillow Group, 120 days after returning from maternity leave with my third son. I knew that the enterprise marketing strategies I had built were scalable and had a need in the marketplace. Within twenty days, I sold a few shares of stock I had earned and formed my first LLC.
Our company name comes from the people most important to me: my family.
Each initial of “TAKE” is the middle initial of my family members beginning with my husband and first child who share the middle name Thomas and ending with me, Vanessa Elizabeth Murray.
The second half of the name was a no-brainer: Success is what we all want in life and in business. Why not make it happen?
It was fitting that on the day the company was incorporated, Carson Alexander, age 6, said, “We want to take success, Mommy.” Well said, son.
